NEW ZEALAND COURSE FEES FOR INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS

Tuition fees for international students depend upon the type and duration of the course.\

UNIVERSITY

Undergraduate Degree- 20500-25000 (NZ$)

Postgraduate Diploma & Postgraduate degree (19000-29000) (NZ$)

MBA- 31000-50000 (NZ$) (can vary institution wise)

POLYTECHNIC

Bachelor- 20200 (NZ$)

Diploma- 18300 (NZ$)

Certificate- 16800 (NZ$)

Students should refer to the individual or polytechnic/PTC for the exact cost of the specific degrees as this will vary from institution to institution.

WHAT IS THE COST TO LIVE IN NEW ZEALAND

The total cost of living depends on each student’s spending habits and where they are living. Tertiary students should budget between NZ$13000 to NZ$16000 per academic year in living expenses to cover accommodation, food utility bills and money for recreation and entertainment.

PART-TIME WORK WHILE STUDYING

Students taking a course for more than one year can work full time during the summer holidays and up to 20 hours a week during the academic year. They will need a ‘Variation of conditions’ to their student permit, which is issued by the New Zealand immigration. A fee may apply.
These rules don’t apply for post graduate students or those who need to get work experience in order to fulfill course requirements.

POST STUDY WORK RIGHTS- GRADUATE JOB SEARCH VISA

If you are a student who has completed a qualification or qualifications in New Zealand, but do not have a job offer, you may be eligible for a graduate Job Search Work Visa for a maximum for 12 months. Then, if you have found a job, you can apply for a further visa for up to two or three years under the Study to Work category

Students, who have the skills New Zealand needs and who wish to stay in New Zealand long term, may apply for a Skilled Migrant Visa, which gives them the opportunity to work and live in New Zealand permanently. Today over 20% of international students stay on to live and work in New Zealand.
